Red Mountain Gear LLC was born in the rugged Mountains of Alaska.
While Co-Founder Luke Aho was on his first Dall Sheep hunt he left his traditional Tripod at home because it was just too heavy. While on this hunt he couldn’t help but think he already had the legs of a Tripod with him. The challenge was, coming up with a lightweight base to utilize his trekking poles and a tent pole. The idea stuck with him, and after many months of designing, reconfiguring, and testing; the Vari-Leg Tripod was invented, and Red Mountain Gear LLC began.
Red Mountain Gear’s products are built, tested and proven by sheep hunters in the Mountains of Alaska.
